On March 23, 2021, Barbara Sue “Bobbie” (Toler) Hunckler, age 63, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at her home in Walnut Creek, CA after a 3-month battle with cancer.

Barb is the 11th of 12 children born to Pearl Evelyn and James Ivan Toler in Kankakee, Il.  She is a very active and energetic athlete who enjoys Chicago Bears football, Cubs baseball, Bulls and Warriors basketball, golfing and hiking.

On Nov 16, 1985 she married Stephen Hunckler. Together, their biggest accomplishment was raising a fantastic son, Thomas James (Alyson) Hunckler.  Barb’s biggest thrill is being the grandma of Tom and Aly’s son, Oliver Stephen Hunckler.  Oli continues to fill her soul with overflowing happiness.

Barb and Steve are blessed with many friends, way too many to list.  They have lived throughout the United States and have traveled the world in their over 36 years together.  They have shared many experiences with their friends and family.  Her moto is “Life’s Good!!!”  She always put other’s fun and needs first.  She had a sharp wit and a great laugh and lived life to its fullest.

Barb is proceeded in death by her parents, Pearl Evelyn and James Ivan Toler, Linda Decker (sister), David Toler (brother), Richard Hunckler, Sr (father in law) and Richard Hunckler, Jr (brother in law).

Barb is survived by Steve (husband) Tom (son), Alyson (daughter in law), Oliver (grandson), her brothers and sisters: Mary Hunt, Jim Toler, Sandra Witkowski, Shirley Townsley, Nancy Tewell, Joyce Brown, Rose Carsten, Brenda Turrell, Kevin Toler along with their spouses and families.  She is also survived by her in laws: Mary Hunckler (mother in law), Jim (Amy) Hunckler and Mark (Maribeth) Hunckler.

A special thanks goes out to Catty Dickert and Tami Lightle for their friendship and assistance taking care of Barb over the past several months.
