Charles Joseph Molosky II DDS Obituary

Charles Joseph Molosky, II. September 24, 1944 - February 14, 2025. Born in Los Angeles to Charles Joseph Molosky,Sr. and Marina Diaz Molosky, first of two children, CJ was welcomed warmly into the Los Angeles family then was joined three years later by his little ‘Seester’, Judy. Grandparents and cousins surrounded the Molosky’s and life on 70th St. was always active from football in the street to bicycle riding and play-acting in the garage. Commonly called CJ, he attended St. Anselm Parish grammar school and went on to be in the first graduating class of St. Bernard’s, H.S., Westchester, CA. He majored in pre-med at Loyola University and with excellent grades went on to receive his DDS at Physicians and Surgeons dental school in San Francisco.

He loved Northern California, having vacationed at the Russian River during high school and college. Dr C opened his own dental practice at 490 Post Street, San Francisco, in 1969 after a brief stint in the Navy at Lemoore Naval Air Station. While riding the elevator at his DDS practice, Chuck met the love of his life, Charlotte Kuhl. Married in Minnesota in 1978, they settled down to raise their family in Greenbrae, California. Family was central to who Chuck was. Children Ann Marie and Michael grew up with a dad that coached their games and commuted back over the Golden Gate for family dinners and to help with homework. “Doc”, as he loved to be called by patients, friends and family, loved fishing for trout at Phoenix Lake, Bon Tempe, and San Pablo Dam reservoir.

He coached his kids in all sports, most notably, baseball/softball; and hosted holiday and Super Bowl parties at their home. In his later years he became an expert carp fisherman, always practicing catch and release so as to never deplete the world of larger fish to catch!

Doc had a quick wit and an amazing memory. He was full of quotes and one-liners that he shared (repeatedly). Some favorites included: “you don’t need to floss your teeth, only the ones you want to keep” & “be motivated by desire not by fear” and his favorite from Mark Twain, “I had many troubles in my life, most of which never happened”. He overcame challenges in his life with the support of those that surrounded him, something he was incredibly proud of.

He was a lover of traditions.  He gathered at least twice a year with a special group of UOP dentists (best friends) always for the annual Waterski trip in Fresno, CA. He joined a dad/daughter group in 1985, called the “Indian Princesses” a cherished group that adventured to Sea Ranch, Tahoe and across the bay area.  A group that still gathers to this day.  Doc was proud to welcome his son into the dental field and they worked together for a number of years in downtown San Francisco.

Doc retired after more than 40 years of dentistry, to Sacramento, CA where he found enjoyment playing bridge, watching the Giants and 49ers with his good buddy Tim, attending his four grandsons sporting events and of course, fishing :)

Dr C is survived by Charlotte Molosky, daughter Ann Marie (Ben) Pettigrew, grandchildren, JT and Joey and son Dr. Michael Molosky, DDS, grandchildren, Aiden and Nico.

A memorial service will be private at a fishing hole in Northern CA. A wider celebration of life will follow in late April.
